HRM Ladies Fastball League – Heather Burgwin All-Star Team

ABOUT THE AWARD:
 
This summer the Brewers lost their dear friend and coach, Heather, after her long and courageous battle with cancer.  Heather Burgwin was a coach and former player in the HRM ladies fastball league. She represented Nova Scotia at several national championships and was selected to the All-Star Team as a catcher at the 1997 Canadian Fastpitch Championships. Heather was also a key member of the 2002 Eastern Canadian Championship team and won several other provincial and regional championships throughout her career. To honour her legacy in elite fastball in Nova Scotia the league will be selecting a 4 player All-Star team for the following positions: Pitcher, Catcher, Infielder, and Outfielder.
 
 
NOMINATION PROCESS:
 
Attached are the nomination forms to be circulated to all teams in the HRM Ladies Fastball League. Each team shall nominate 4 of their team’s players, one for each of the positions. Please complete the attached form and include as much information as possible. Nomination forms are to be returned to LJORDAN30@HOTMAIL.COM  on or before MONDAY SEPT 22^ND 2014..  (A sample of a completed nomination form is attached).
 
 
VOTING PROCESS:
 
Nomination forms will be collected then circulated to all teams for consideration and voting. A voting form is attached, each team is to complete the voting sheet and submit it to LJORDAN30@HOTMAIL.COM  on or before OCTOBER 1^ST 2014.
 
**Teams are not permitted to vote for their own players. **
 
Please rank your nominees in order of your 1^st choice to your last choice for each position. A first place vote is worth 3pts and a last choice is worth 1 pt. The players receiving the most pts for each position will earn a selection to the All-Star team. (A sample of a completed voting form is attached).
 
 
FYI completed voting sheets and results can be circulated to any team by request. The spirit of the award is for the players to be selected by their peers and for the most deserving players to be honored each year.
 
Each of the players selected to the All-Star Team will receive a plaque with their names engraved on it. Plaques are being donated to the league by the Brewers and members of the Sackville Women’s Slo-Pitch league, both of which Heather was a part of.
